LMCU Hires Keturia Tate as Community Relations Mortgage Loan Officer for West Michigan

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to share the hiring of Keturia Tate as a community relations mortgage loan officer for the credit union’s West Michigan region.

In her new role, Tate will connect individuals and families with the resources they need to buy their homes. With a special emphasis on helping first-time buyers achieve their dreams of homeownership, Tate will develop personalized mortgage solutions to make the process easier and more affordable for homebuyers unsure about how to take the first step.

LMCU Vice President of Community Lending, John Harpst, believes Tate’s previous experience makes her perfect for assisting first-time homebuyers, in particular. “Keturia is an expert when it comes to building relationships,” Harpst said. “Her work with community housing organizations has taught her how to overcome buyers’ barriers to homeownership with skill, care, and a personal touch.”

Tate echoed this, emphasizing the importance of empathy as a mortgage lender. “Understanding the unique needs, challenges, and aspirations of all community members is essential,” Tate said. “Having empathy builds trust and establishes meaningful connections, which are the foundation for creating long-lasting lending relationships and helping more people find homes.”
